an outfit for a cold cold day

It's freezing in DC this fair Monday morning. I mean, 50 degrees cold. That's REALLY cold to happen so sudden-like. I used the weather this weekend as an excuse to go on a tights replenishing mission! Yay! And I was rewarded with 25% off of 3 at J Crew, go me.

I forgot to take an outfit pic this morning - 90 minutes of yoga before work after a late night of hockey drafting will do that to you. But that's ok! I can still show you what I'm wearing.

This is a bit of a departure for me, venturing into the midi's, but I think I like it. I think I need MORE midis. Lots of midis. Midi midi midi.

Here we go!
I have on my trusty J Crew Tippi sweater in Navy

With this awesome midi skirt from Asos

Some camel ribbed tights to keep me toasty

(i want that coat)

and Michael Kors shoes that are OLD but look kinda like this...but smooth leather, not suede

You know something kind of sad? When I was in J Crew picking up my tights (I was very restrained), I actually stroked the charcoal No 2 pencil skirt in double serge wool and whispered to it, Helllo darling.

I may have a small issue with clothes.

I think I'll wear skirts and dresses all week. Why not?

i heart the weekend

hey, here's something brand new for ya - saturday sara! i never take weekend pics. but I thought I would today. So here's me, upon return from Post Office and Starbucks this morning.

that T is from anthropologie, the sandals are old navy. and the skirt? the skirt is handmade, by me. last night, while simultaneously making dinner. because i am awesome.

seriously, its a little wonky, but i made a piece of clothing, without a pattern, from a picture in my head, and it turned out to be something i will wear often. crazy. loving it.

in other news, i can't seem to find my question a day book....but when i find it i have catch up to do!

Its Friday!

Happy Friday! I do love me some Fridays.

My Friday outfits are more casual, as Fridays, are...well, they are Casual Fridays, aren't they? I rarely have outside client meetings so I do get to enjoy them most weeks.

Even just 3 days in on outfit pictures, posting my outfits here is really making me more conscious of 1) what looks good on me, and 2) what I have in my closet. It's a lot of fun!

Here's today's ensemble:

No, I don't know what that face I'm making is either.

T-Shirt: Banana Republic Outlet

something for a rainy thursday in may

morning! Another outfit post for you today. Please, again, ignore the picture quality and the state of my bathroom. I will get better at this. I will get a tripod. I will find pretty places to take my picture. I do in fact own a digital camera. So then! Today, I had a belt debacle (debuckle, oh thats bad). I need one more notch on my belt (heh heh) (no, really). Let's take a small moment to acknowledge an item of my clothing being too big. Rejoice!...ok and we're done.

So I'm sitting there, trying to make the slight too big belt work. I start thinking, who is this belt made for? I'm not exactly itty bitty and I would appear to need a small. And then my mind goes to... for whom is this belt? You can see where this is going. For whom the belt, tis not for me. Before you know it, I've jumped from Donne to Metallica and in my head I'm all "for whom the belt tolls, time marches On on on on". Yes, it was a dorky moment, and I'm happy to share it with you.

Outfit!

blogger ate my post and other tales

Good morning!
I had written a post over the weekend, and all that remains is the headline. So sad. I seem to have become a victim of the great blogger debacle of '11.

I will re-write to catch up on my daily questions. I also mentioned that I'm putting off 30 for 30 until next Monday.

However..I do have an outfit picture for you today, and I can 100% guaruntee that these items are making it in to my 30. So here goes, first outfit post. Please excuse the picture quality, I'm gonna need a tripod! (also please excuse the unmade bed, ugh)
